USE
OF THE BATON : THE LAMB METHOD
This programme demonstrates
techniques that, properly used, could help avoid expensive verdicts of brutality
stemming from the use of the service baton. One learns techniques, in just a few
hours of training, that makes it difficult for witnesses to distort what actually
happened. Currently being used by riot control units, military units and security
forces, the Lamb Method enables all Officers to act quickly and effectively, even
against younger or stronger assailants. |

USE
OF CHEMICAL AGENTS
This programme examines situations in
which chemical agents can be effectively used and demonstrates the use of: HC
or inert gas; CN or teargas; and CS or irritant gas. It shows two such situations
– a riotous crowd acting violently towards police and an emotionally disturbed
man who barricades himself without hostages and begins sniping at police. The
four basic delivery systems are described: projectiles, grenades, foggers and
aerosol irritant projectiles. Stop action is used so that the trainer may give
additional information in conjunction with the chemical agent being shown. |
